3 Days Tsavo & Amboseli
Tsavo East, Tsavo West, and the elephant plains of Amboseli, with Kilimanjaro on the horizon.
A classic circuit, run the way the early travellers did it.
This is one of the original safari circuits out of Mombasa, and it still earns its place. In three days it takes in Tsavo East, the game-rich corridor through Tsavo West, and Amboseli, where the snows of Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, rise behind the herds.
Game viewing across the route is exceptional. Tsavo’s red-dust plains give way to Amboseli’s open swamps, where elephants gather in numbers, and the chance to photograph them with Kilimanjaro behind is the picture most people come for.

Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park
Depart the coast and enter Tsavo East through Bachuma Gate, spotting game along the way. You reach Voi Safari Lodge in time for lunch, with views over the waterhole below. The afternoon is given to a game drive across Tsavo’s open red plains, home to its famous dust-coloured elephants.
Tsavo East & West to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast you leave Tsavo East and game-view your way through Tsavo West, then continue to Amboseli. This park holds a wealth of wildlife, and you arrive in time for lunch at Kibo Safari Camp. After a rest, an afternoon game drive heads out across the plains, where you may well get your photograph of a herd of elephants in front of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli National Park to Mombasa
A game drive at sunrise, the best hour to observe the wildlife, before returning to camp for breakfast. Afterwards you head back to the coast, stopping at a lodge or restaurant for lunch along the way. On arrival in Mombasa you are dropped at your beach hotel.
