1Bookings and confirmation

A booking is confirmed when Savanna Secrets Safaris has received a signed booking form or written acceptance of the itinerary and a deposit payment as specified in your quotation. The contract between the client and Savanna Secrets Safaris Ltd comes into effect at the point of confirmation.

2Deposits and payment

A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your itinerary, lodge reservations, and any permits required. The deposit amount will be specified in your quotation and varies depending on the itinerary, duration, and destinations involved.

The balance of the total cost is due no later than 60 days before the start date of your safari. For bookings made within 60 days of the start date, full payment is required at the time of booking. Payment methods accepted will be confirmed at the time of quotation.

4Cancellation or amendment by Savanna Secrets Safaris

In the unlikely event that Savanna Secrets Safaris is required to cancel or significantly amend a confirmed itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer either an alternative arrangement of equivalent value, or a full refund of payments made to us.

Savanna Secrets Safaris is not liable for cancellations or amendments caused by force majeure, including but not limited to natural disaster, political instability, government travel restrictions, pandemic, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

5Changes made by the client

Requests to amend a confirmed booking will be accommodated where possible. Amendment requests must be made in writing. Savanna Secrets Safaris reserves the right to charge an administration fee for amendments, particularly where lodge or permit bookings must be changed at short notice.

6Travel insurance

Travel insurance is not included in any Savanna Secrets Safaris package. All clients are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance before confirming their booking. Insurance should cover, at minimum: trip cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and evacuation, loss of baggage and personal effects, and personal liability.

Flying Doctors emergency evacuation cover is included in Savanna Secrets Safaris packages as specified in each itinerary. This does not replace the need for comprehensive travel insurance.

7Health and fitness

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the travelling party are in suitable health for the activities included in their itinerary. Please inform us at the time of booking of any medical conditions, dietary requirements, mobility considerations, or special needs relevant to any member of your group. We will do our best to accommodate these where possible.

8Passports, visas, and entry requirements

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the travelling party hold valid travel documentation including passports and any required visas for the destinations on their itinerary. Savanna Secrets Safaris accepts no liability for clients who are denied entry to any destination due to incomplete or invalid documentation.

9Pricing and inclusions

All quotations are valid for the period specified in writing at the time of quotation. Savanna Secrets Safaris reserves the right to amend pricing in the event of significant changes to park fees, government levies, fuel costs, or currency fluctuations, but will not do so after a deposit has been received without prior written agreement from the client.

Inclusions and exclusions for each itinerary are set out in the relevant package description and confirmed quotation. Savanna Secrets Safaris is not responsible for costs incurred outside the scope of the agreed itinerary.

10Conduct and responsibility

Clients are expected to follow the instructions of their driver-guide at all times, particularly within national parks and conservancies. Savanna Secrets Safaris reserves the right to terminate a safari without refund if a client’s behaviour poses a risk to the safety of other clients, staff, wildlife, or the environment.

11Complaints

Any complaint arising during a safari should be raised immediately with your driver-guide or the Savanna Secrets Safaris operations team so that we have the opportunity to resolve it on the ground. Complaints raised after the safari has concluded will be considered but are more difficult to investigate and resolve effectively.

Written complaints should be directed to sales@savannasecrets.com within 30 days of the conclusion of the safari.

12Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from a booking with Savanna Secrets Safaris Ltd will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
