Coastal Cultural Tour
A day for the coast away from the beach, where the bush meets the sea.
A quieter, more personal side of the coast.
This is a day for the coast away from the beach, where the bush meets the sea and communities live close to both. With a local guide you travel into the coastal hinterland to meet people who keep Swahili traditions alive in everyday life.
You spend time in a traditional village, watch craftspeople at work, and share in the food of the coast, its spices, its seafood, its slow way of cooking. It is a personal counterpoint to the game parks, and a real look at how the coast lives.
A few of the highlights.
- A visit to a traditional coastal village
- Craft demonstrations by local makers
- The food and spices of the Swahili coast
- Where the coastal bush meets the sea
A relaxed, people-paced day. Lunch and any community contributions are arranged on request. The day can be combined with another coastal excursion.
