9 Days  Vultures Safari

DAY 1 – NAIROBI / ABERDARES NATIONAL PARK

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta airport you will be met by your driver guide who after the meet and greet formalities, will drive North wards to Nyeri /Mweiga, with lunch at Aberdares Country Club.  Thereafter you will be taken by the Ark vehicle to the lodge. The Ark is built in the shape of an ark and you spend the whole afternoon watching animals from the large terrace and lounge.  Animals come to the Salt licks and water hole.

  • Aberdare National Park covers the higher areas of the Aberdare mountain range from central Kenya and the Aberdare Salient to its east. Picturesque, steeply wooded canyons and open moors characterize  Aberdare National Park. 
  • The park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive pavians, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalo, warthogs and bush bucks.
  • Rare sightings include those of the giant forest pig, bongo, golden cat, serving cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and a variety of bird species. Area: 766 km ² Founded: 1950

 

DAY 2 – ABERDARES NP / NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast in the Ark and then take Ark vehicle back to Aberdare Country Club, where your driver will accompany you immediately continue via Nyahururu (Thomson Falls) to Nakuru National Park.  Arrival for lunch at Nakuru Lodge. Rest a bit before going on an afternoon game drive around Lake Nakuru.

  • Dinner and night (full board) LAKE NAKURU LODGE
  • Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley Soda Lakes at analtitude of 1754 m above sea level. It is surrounded by wooded and bushy meadows, and is located in beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats, ranging from Lake Nakuru to the surrounding steep slope and picturesque crests. 
  • The Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching and game drives and is located to the south of the city ofNakuru. Area: 45 km ², land area: 1,760 m, Middle depth:2.3 m
DAY 3 – NAKURU NP / MASAI MARA RESERVE

After breakfast check out of Lake Nakuru with game drive enroute to the gate and head for Masai Mara to arrive in time for lunch at Mara Fisi Camp.  Short siesta and thereafter embark on an afternoon game drive.

  • Dinner and overnight stay (full board) MARA FISI CAMP.
  • TheMasai Mara is the most popular game reserve in Kenya. Onthese wide open meadows you often see an incredible variety of different animals.

 

DAY 4 – MASAI MARA RESERVAT – FULL DAY
  • After breakfast collect picnic lunch boxes and proceed on a full day game drive returning to the camp late afternoon.
  • Dinner and overnight stay (full board) MARA FISI CAMP
  • The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kenya Africa. It is considered the jewel of Kenya’s  wildlife viewing areas. 
  • The annual migration includes over 1.5 million animals that come from Serengeti-Tanzania from July and return there in November. 
  • There are about 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species. 

 

DAY 5 – MASAI MARA / NAIROBI
  • After breakfast with game drive enroute check out of Mara and head for Nairobi to arrive at the well –
  • known “Carnivore” restaurant in Kenya’s capital. After transfer to Osoita Lodge, enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the beautiful garden.

  • The capital of Kenya has risen from a brackish uninhabited marshland to a thriving modern capital in a single century. Modern Nairobi has still become the safari capital of Africa and one of the continent’s largest and most interesting cities. 
  • Nairobi is a city that never seems to sleep. The whole city has a limitless energy. This is a place of great contrasts where race, tribe and origin and all facets become the unique Nairobi character. 
  • The city hasn’t lost its sense of the past, with an excellent museum and the historic home of Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, open to visitors. 
    Just
     outside the city is the Nairobi National Park, 113 sq km of plains, cliffs and forest. The park has a number of wildlife that live within 20 minutes of the centre of the big city. 

 

DAY 6 – NAIROBI / AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
  • After breakfast head for Amboseli National park with game drive en route to arrive at Kibo Safari Camp in time for lunch.
  • After a rest, you will go on a game drive in Amboseli Park in the spring afternoon, where in clear weather you will have a wonderful view of Kilimandjaro(5895m), the highest mountain in Africa.
  • Dinner and overnight(full board) at KIBO SAFARI CAMP
DAY 7 – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK / FULL DAY 
  • Breakfast and then departure to the full day game with Picnic lunch. Return in the late afternoon.

    Amboseli National Park is known for its large elephant herds and views of the giant Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. 
  • Observation Hill offers magnificent views of the park, the swamps and panorama of the summit. But you can also see different animals like giraffes , Zebras, Geparde

 

 DAY 8 – AMBOSELI NP / TAITA HILLS RESERVE

Fruit breakfast and then drive to the Taita Hills Reserve. Arrival for lunch at Taita Hills Lodge & check-in Salt Lick Lodge. Then drive to Salt Lick Lodge, enjoy the view from the large terrace to the water point and salt lick. In the later afternoon game drive in the private reserve.

  • Dinner and overnight stay (full board) SALT LICK LODGE
  • Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately run wildlife sanctuary located in the Taita-Taveta district about 220kilometers from Mombasa. 
  • The reserve covers an area of110 km2 and is located next to the Tsavo West National Park and the Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary. 
  • It houses Cape buffalo, elephants, leopard, lions, cheetah, Masai giraffe, zebra, impala, water cop, Thomson’s gazelle, small kudu, dik k and other smaller animals and a wide variety of birdlife.
  • Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1972 by Hilton International, the reserve has two lodges, the Salt Lick Game Lodge and the Taita Hills Game Lodge, both run by Sarova Hotels.

 

 DAY 9 – TAITA HILLS / MOMBASA

Early morning game drive in the sanctuary looking for more animals before check out.  Return to the lodge for a farewell breakfast.  Checkout of saltlick with game drive enroute to the gate.  Head for Mombasa to arrive in a Mombasa for a short city tour followed by African lunch at Sentrim Castle Hotel thereafter transfer to Neptune Village.
